OPUS Codec support for IP222 and IP232
Hello, I would like to ask why the higher series of Innovaphone IP phones IP222 and IP232 do not support OPUS codec even in NB or WB mode. Please, is there a plan to implement this codec in the firmware for these IP phones? Thank You.

The IP2xx phones are technically seen older than the recent IP1xx phones.
They simply don't have the required HW chip to encode/decode the opus codec.

Unfortunally also the cpu power of the phone is not enough to do a software processing of the codecs.

Hi Filip,

What André wrote is correct regarding the older CPU.
The IP222: Orchid-HW-Platform do not support Opus.
However we recently changed the CPU for the IP222 and all new models from the IP222 (IP222A: IMX6-HW-Platform) do support the Opus codec.

Dear Karl,

that is excellent news and thank you very much for the reply. We are planning to buy more IP222 and we have also already bought expansion modules https://www.innovaphone.com/en/ip-telephony/ip-phones/ip2x2-x.html , which I assume should be compatible with the new version of IP222.
