Group Names / Objects - best way to get sync - guid?
Hello,

in the advanced admin ui i think it isn´t actual possible to rename a configured group name. And if the renaming is needed, then you have to set a new one and change it on each pbx object where the group name has to change.

I tested it with the new ui (pbx manager>groups), there it is possible but it looks to me that the admin get trouble with that.

So whats is the actual best solution to get sync with these group names, because i didn´t found any guid for the group names.

It is indeed no GUID defined for a group. If you want to change a group name, you have to list all objects assigned to this group and rename this group at every object.

Hello Andreas,

"could you please elaborate this?"

-> Before i send the post i did some tests. When i renamed a group, that group exist then 2 times. With the old and new name. And when i looked to the advanced ui, i saw pbx objects with the new and old group name.

But when i want to do it today with screen recording to show you what i mean, everything works fine with a new group.
So i tried it again with the group in the past and i could repeat the described behavior.

Then i realised that the pbx manager group administration could only show user objects and maybe no other pbx objects. But you could configure in the advanced ui for example also WQ Objects with a group membership. And these objects then will be not renamed. And if you rename a group with a WQ membership, then you get two entries, one with the original name and no membes shown (in the pbx manager > Groups) and the new group name with all the users in the membership. But in the andvanced ui you could see the WQ object with the orinial group name.
