Yes we have different installations at different levels of integration. So, the question is like: I want to by a car 

What car? SUV, PickUp, RaceCar ....?
Simple to have the informations like name and company of the caller is no problem. You must only present this informations via LDAP.
But now the customer wants more informations. Maybe simple the CRM-ID of the cutomer. Then you can use some additional fields. After that maybe the user wants to open the contact at the CRM via an Action-URL.
Everythink is possible but you have evaluate exactly what the customer wants before you start the project.
