Problem with fax or ip22

we have ip800 and ip22 where on port tel1 is hp printer with fax module. at the momment we have problem with fax. i cannot send receve them . when i call the fax number i hear normal ringing not so fax sound.
on ip800 i see the ip22 is registered. when i call the fax i also see on ip22 that im calling. when i disable tel1 port on ip 22. the number is not available.

we change the fax another hp printer, the same.
so now im not sure what not working. ip22 or the fax. is there posible that my setting on ip22 are wrong? but nobody did change something , only one or twice the electricity was gone because a storm in the area.
can someone help me what or how schould i try to fix this?

Hi there,

Do you hear the HP fax ringing?

Mostly these multifunctionals also have a 'phone' function.

Did you try with a analog phone? Does it ring then?

Please make sure that the HP fax has 'auto awnser' enabled.

This is one of the most common problems with the HP machines in my experience.

i have new information.
we connect a analog telephone on tel1 port of ip22. telephona was ringing, you can pick up and talk to person..
but you cannot call back.
we change it back as fax we use canon mf6100 not hp. when you are calling to fax now you hear fax sound.
but when you try to send fax line is busy .
so could be that cable is dmaged?
innovaphone support from our consaultant dsaid that this is normall that you cannot call back that onl setting which you can do its t.38 and exlusive option schould be selected.
can someone confirm that?

do you have t.38 enabled and your Provider support it?

yes i have it enabled on ip22 t.38

wenn we try to send fax or also when they try to call my mobile phone the call is on ip22

Dear GregorD,

can you deactivate the dialtone detection on the fax?

You can also try to set the TONES setting on the interface to Public.
