Questions regarding conferences

Hello everyone,

we're testing the conferencing feature in the lab.

We configured the CONF Iface on a IP800 and a GW-Object on our lab-PBX (IP302).

CONF is registered and we can call the conference bridge and set adhoc ones without problems. One Subscriber creates an adhoc conference and the others join when they call the showed number. OK

But, there is no announcements (don't know even where can I cofigure that).

The configuration showed in the ice course and the wiki is not that clear either (in the course will be only shown how to create an aggregation with CONF+GW Object).

My questions are:

- How can I play announcements when the subscribers join/leave/etc in if I use the CONF+GW type?

- How (and in what place) can I configure a Bc Conference? (without aggregation)

- What is the pbx object "conference" for?

- Is there any documentation that shows and clears the whole concept? if not it should be

you need an BC Conference object, and Users are announced with name when joining and leaving the conference room.

Hi Michael,

thank you for your answer.

I read on the Wiki that the BC Conference + VM Skript was replaced with the "conference" PBX-Object on the v11 (we test the v11).

I configured one "conference" PBX-Object, and registered a CONF-Interface with it (I supposed it should work that way, that part is also missing in the wiki).

Now it does something when I configure a room-number an call the conference number+room number, but I'm not sure how the flow it's supposed to work.

There aren't any default or test announcements to download, but a criptic description of the posible ones.

Can you provide us with complete instructions for the configuration/supposed use/flow to work with the object "Conference"?

Is there any default Announcement-files we can download to use with that object?

The conference calls themselves are connected by one or more conference servers (MCU) registered to this object as devices. If more than one conference server is used, the different media types of the calls can be split to the different servers. A innovaphone CONF interface can be registered to this object to provide audio conferences with application sharing.

Hello,
The DTMF tones are not forwarded to the MCU to the CONF interface.
The mute function for everyone realized in the CONF interface.
Therefore, no one can Mute other members. We saw this as a security problem, until we have a new control / access authorization via myPBX.
We could rework, and allow the mute function for ad hoc romms and his creator.
For static romms, it does not work. I think this is a good feature request.

Suggestions for application which do not yet exist (but probably should))

Is it possible to create a conference room on IPVA in v11r2 sr5?

I created my object "conference", the room number...

When I call extension of the conference object, I have "temporary failure"

On IPVA, I don't have innovaphone CONF interface...
What's the next step? In the wiki, I read "The conference calls themselves are connected by one or more conference servers (MCU)"

MCU are available on IPVA?

Jean-Francois,

the PBX conference object manages one or more CONF interfaces. The IPVA does not provide any CONF interface, so you will need a gateway device that does.
