Problem with matching 4 and 5 digit extensions

Hello, we have an IP401 with Dect phones from ASCOM, the Dect phones have a 320XX extension, the problem is that when we dial another 4-digit extension, for example 3201, the wrong format appears, the 3201 should go to a route, but when we start with an extension equal to 5 digits, the Innovaphone PBX treats it as its own, if I dial an extension that does not match, it works fine, I would like to know how to directly not treat the 4-digit extensions as internal and send them to the trunk. Thanks.

Re: Problem with matching 4 and 5 digit extensions
Hi Toni,

Whatever length your number plan has, you can NEVER use overlapping number that are the same as used numbers in your number plan.

For example with your 5 Digit Numberplan 320xx, you can NOT dial numbers outside your PBX starting with 320x because the PBX assumes that you are dialing one of the internal number 320x and expects the last x as wel.

All unknown number however, starting not with 320 can be dialed as a shorter or longer number and will be routed to your trunk object (depending on your settings in PBX, Config, General, Route Root-Node External Calls to

If you want to extinguish overlapping external from internal numbers, you need to dial an escape code for example a 0 to dial external numbers.
Your trunk object should then have the 0 as access code.

Best regards,
Karl

Re: Problem with matching 4 and 5 digit extensions
Thank you for your response, I work with Cisco Call Manager and other PBXs and I have not had this problem, it is simply filtered by number of digits, it would be enough if there were 4 digits for the call to go to a specific route, is this not possible?

I only use Dect telephones with Innovaphone, these telephones are dialed at once, that is to say that I dial the number first and then pick up, there is no possibility of adding more numbers, being 4 digits it should be possible to make a route so that it is the number that it is , exit outside the Innovaphone
PBX.

Although the first 3 digits coincide, they have different lengths, that should be enough for the PBX to differentiate.

This operation: "Because the PBX assumes that you are dialing one of the internal number 320x and expects the last x as wel" , can not be changed?

because the PBX assumes that you are dialing one of the internal number 320x and expects the last x as wel.
