softphone alternative for Homeoffice to PBX (linux)?
Hello, I am new here and didnt find any tips in my search.

We have a PBX IP6010 and provide for some Homeoffice Users a connection through a simple openSSL (managed by a sophos UTM).
They using the Softphone which is registred as soon as they are connected by the openSSL client.

The Softwarephone is mandatory for a functional communication with the Headset as i understand.
But is there a other solution for connecting to the myPBX , outside of a window client (e.g. other softwaresolutions)?
We are thinking about to make a bootable BYOD Stick (linux based) with openVPN CLient.
But the softwarephone is only .net windows based.

Other softwaresolution are also welcome which can control the attached headset and myPBX. I am also thinking about TURN server, but how can this be secured by certificaes/encryption

Thank you

Hello,

what do you mean with "functional communication with the Headset"?

What Version of innovaphone do you use?

Generally for Homeoffice i would prefer a solution with a reverse-proxy from innovaphone. So the Users are not reliant to the vpn tunnel but the connection to the pbx is encrypted and safe and you can connect any endpoint to the pbx over the internet like myApps/myPBX mobile App, ip-phone, Softwarephone or Softphone/WebRTC via web browser.

Is the only solution a software based solution in your concept or can it also be a solution to put a ip-phone to the Users Homeoffice?

Best regards,
Jesse

HI , unfortunately we only have version 12r1 sr10

I've looked into this:
We already have enough myPBX licences.
Browser + connected headset on any OS is exactly what we need.

A reverse-proxy solution needs to be tested in our enviroment, then we can drop the openVPN tunnel.

Didnt know that this was possible. Its clearly a more dynamic and modern solution

So unfortunately Web RTC don´t work with 12r1 anymore.

But you can also connect desk phones over the reverse-proxy, or you have to make some considerations to upgrade to a newer version.
