Re: behind a NAT

Hi Jose,

I doubt being behind a NAT router is related to the problem.

Please go to Services -> DNS -> Query and enter www.google.com

Which should give you a reply that looks like:

SUCCESS(0)
Answer Section
A TTL 300

If not, go to IP4 -> ETH0 or ETH1, whichever you are using and make sure you have configured the right DNS server under the IP tab. Or perhaps try using the assigned DNS server on your computer to see if it works.

Re: behind a NAT
Hi Caspar,

I cannot find services -> DNS
I go to ETH0-> IP, where I configure the gateway and the DNS server.
I try, for DNS server, the local DNS server, and also 8.8.8.8
Then I go to Diagnostics -> Ping
I can ping 8.8.8.8 but cannot ping www.google.com get this result when trying to ping google:
Ping result
invalid destination

Any idea?

Thanks

Re: behind a NAT
Hello Jose

In my opion ping on a Innovaphone device does only allow to use IP-addresses and thus does not resolve domain names.

We have an IP305 (10.00 sr38) and the ping field shows explicitly the field lable "IP-address". Also a short try of ping for a local IP-address (behind NAT) works, but does not work for the domain name that points to the same IP-address and reports "invalid destination". The same is true for traceroute.

best regards,

André

Re: behind a NAT
In our configuration with a SIP server it shows (Gateway/SIP/SIP1) that the pbx is connected with the server with (for example):

212.XX.XX.XX -> 127.0.0.0

If the pbx is not connected with the SIP server it shows:

-> 127.0.0.0

The get an precise idea what happens Logging and Tracing are to be consulted by having enabled the options: SIP ... Registrations and SIP Signaling. There you can see if the VoIP-server is contacted at all and if this is the case what is going "wrong" eventually with the authentication and so on.

best regards,

André

Re: behind a NAT
Ok, I see.

It was an authentication problem. It's working now.

Thanks
