I use a wildcard-certificate for oure cloud. My solution was a trainee, which did the upload on every system manually
Maybe you can do this with the PHP-update-server but until now i found no time to get expirience with this.
You need to build a certicate with the complete chain of the certificate. Without this the Firefox don't accept the certificate.
